Position Summary

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for performing collision repair, structural work, and refinishing preparation on commercial vehicles and heavy-duty equipment. This role requires hands-on expertise in body repair, frame alignment, and surface preparation to ensure vehicles are restored to pre-accident condition or better.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform collision repair and bodywork on trucks, buses, and specialty vehicles
  • Conduct frame straightening and structural repairs using heavy-duty equipment
  • Repair or replace damaged panels, components, and assemblies
  • Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, masking, priming)
  • Assist with body modifications and refurbishing projects
  • Diagnose damage and collaborate on repair estimates
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Ensure all repairs meet company quality and safety standards

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in auto body or collision repair (commercial vehicle experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of frame repair, bodywork, and refinishing prep
  • Ability to use shop tools, welding equipment, and frame machines
  • Experience working with heavy-duty vehicles or equipment is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced shop environment
